Context

The problem to address

Cobble aimed to provide reusable functionality through independently developed modules, rather than requiring every business application to be built as a standalone system. The capstone focused on the Member Management System (MMS) and Discussion Board (DSC).

Contribution

My responsibilities

  • MMS: developed and refined the Add Address interface and worked on profile, contact and address pages.
  • Improved HTML/CSS consistency and integrated frontend functionality with existing backend endpoints and SQL stored procedures.
  • Tested address submissions and verified that address information persisted in SQL Server.
  • DSC: contributed to frontend refinement, tested frontend functionality and backend integration, and reviewed changes against the sprint plan and product backlog.
  • Helped address feedback about frontend web-server configuration and deployment architecture.
  • Created and maintained the DSC product backlog and sprint plan, using MoSCoW prioritisation to track requirements and progress.

Implementation

Decisions and methods

  • For MMS, connected interface work to existing backend endpoints and stored procedures, then checked address persistence.
  • For DSC, used the sprint plan and product backlog to organise and review work against agreed requirements.
  • Contributed to testing and team integration work across the project components.

Outcome

Delivery and outcomes

  • Team deliverable — MMS: a containerised, database-backed member management application with profile, contact and address interfaces.
  • Team deliverable — DSC: a discussion module that reached release-candidate stage; its voting functionality was verified through nine passing regression test suites.
  • Project artefacts included source code, database scripts, Docker configuration, automated tests, technical documentation and installation documentation.
